Farmers Markets are more than just shopping. You are supporting small businesses, entrepreneurs, local agriculture, and the nonprofits that partner with the Farmers Market each season. It’s all about community and connecting with neighbors – being part of something bigger right here in The Hollywood of the South®.
“Our markets are a great showcase of local talent, hard work, and delicious and unique products,” says Dara Penland, City of Covington Special Events Coordinator, adding that the motto of the Covington Farmers Market is ‘where community grows strong.’ “
Residents and visitors in Covington have several long-standing vendors who are loved within our community. Their continued participation is a testament not only to the value of their product, but to the relationships they’ve built with consumers.
Penland adds that one goal when preparing for market season is to curate a diverse mix of vendors to have a broad selection of goods that include fresh fruits and vegetables, artisan breads, jams, honey, baked goods, spices, meats, plants, and natural bath and body products.
“We are excited to include new vendors and bring a wider variety of options to this market season.”
Beyond Ag Day, the Farmers Market experience is elevated to embrace Christmas in July Market, Fall Festival, and Mistletoe Market which is part of the annual Lights at Legion kickoff in early December.
