From its perfect All-American town square to its beautiful homes, Hollywood has found an ideal setting in Covington.

  • The Dukes of Hazzard – On air from 1979 to 1985, this is the saga of the Duke brothers living out a Robin Hood existence and driving their car, “The General Lee,” at break-neck speeds. (Available on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video)
  • Remember the Titans – Denzel Washington stars in this biopic of a black football coach entering the lives of mostly white players in the 1970s. (Available on Disney+)
  • The Cannonball Run – It’s Burt Reynolds (who almost single-handedly brought Hollywood to Georgia in the early 1970s) in a screwball race to the finish. The scene where an airplane lands is right on the Historic Downtown Covington Square! (Streaming on Apple TV+)
  • In the Heat of the Night – Based on the movie starring Sidney Poitier, the TV show stars Carroll O’Connor and Howard Rollins telling the story of a white sheriff and a black detective working together in a small Mississippi town. (Available on Pluto TV)
  • Selma – This historical drama recounts the Selma-to-Montgomery march led by civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The movie has a stellar cast, including Oprah Winfrey and David Oyelowo. (Available on MGM+ and The Roku Channel)
  • Sweet Magnolias – Follow the lives of three women, best friends since childhood, as they help one another in the ups and downs of everyday life. (Streaming on Netflix)
  • The Originals – If you’re looking for 1,000-year-old vampires, this is your show. (Available on Amazon Prime Video)
  • Coat of Many Colors – Based on Dolly Parton’s song about her childhood, this TV movie stars Alivia Alyn Lind as the young Dolly. (Available on Roku and Amazon Prime Video)
  • The Vampire Diaries – The saga of life in Mystic Falls, VA when the vampire Salvatore brothers come back to town and both fall in love with Elena Gilbert. The show inspired Covington’s vampire tours. (Streaming on Peacock)
