The summer sounds of Covington are heating up in June to spirit us into the venues and attractions hosting live music and keeping the drumbeat of our town’s soul.

- Dueling Pianos
June 2: 7 pm
Sing along as two pianists perform in this family-friendly show. Request your favorite rock and roll classics, Top 40, R&B, and country. The shows are typically unscripted, making this improv performance unique to the evening. Covington welcomes participants of the Bicycle Ride Across Georgia (BRAG) with this special show. Free

- Juneteenth Parade
June 15: 10 am
Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States and is a blend of the two words "June" and "nineteenth." Cheer on the Juneteenth parade that will travel from Legion Field through the Square to celebrate Covington and the freedom this day represents ... a jubilant, joyous, triumphal occasion, presented by the Newton County Historical Committee on Black Preservation Info

Legion Field is a gathering space with an amphitheater, banquet hall, three-acre sporting field and a paved walking track. Its spacious 8+ acre grounds provide plenty of room for performers and audiences, especially during the warmer months when Live at Legion shows and Cinema Saturdays are presented.
- YMCA Bike Rodeo
June 1: 10 am – 12 pm
Join the Covington Family Y for the Annual Bike Rodeo to cycle into a safe summer at this free, family-friendly event. Riders can undergo bike safety checks, warm-up with a kids group exercise class, participate in an obstacle course and group trail ride, play yard games and pickleball, enter giveaways, and earn prizes. The 4th Annual Bike Rodeo is presented by Michelin in partnership with Golden State Foods, the City of Covington, Covington Police Department, C4 Cycling Club, MG Law, and Newton Trails. In their 16th year together, DEPARTURE is a highly respected Journey tribute band. The musicians replicate the sound and feel of the original ‘80s rock ensemble, Journey.
